How to Help

The California Dictionary Project is a 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Our main need is for funding. Unfortunately there is no source for free dictionaries. We must purchase them from publishers. In order to include as many kids as possible, we try to keep our costs below $1.50 per dictionary. We strive to keep the great majority of our funding for book-buying, but we do have incidental expenses: stamps, distribution costs, gasoline, etc. A generous donation will allow us to provide the gift of words to a greater number of California third graders. Please visit Our Donors page for a listing of our gracious donors.

In addition to individual cash donations, our organization seeks national and local sponsors, as well as corporate grants, endowments, and gifts-in-kind. Our financials and registration are available upon request for interested donors.

Donate online now with your credit card through Network for Good.
